VIC: In Melbourne there s more to tennis than the players

MELBOURNE, Jan 14 AAP - Tennis is supposed to be the main attraction.

Pat Rafter, Mark Philippoussis, Steffi Graf, Anna Kournikova and a host of other big names
will be there.

But when Melbourne Park plays host to The Australian Open, the crowds flock to see more
than just the booming aces and backhand winners.

Celebrity-spotting is a favourite pastime, the face-painted fanatics will be partying hard,
and for the trendy set, just being courtside with a glass of chardonnay is the place to be.
